CARF ACCREDITATION

MAY 4, 2009 to MAY 6, 2009

Step By Step, Inc. has enjoyed being a CARF accredited agency since 2002. The agency will be renewing its accreditation through a review by CARF staff on May 4th, 5th, and 6th 2009. Step By Step and CARF welcome comments from the community at large on our services and the CARF review.

Reviews through the CARF accreditation process promote the enhancement of quality services through: peer review, confirmation of efficient and effective service implementation and the evaluation of services in relationship to international standards of quality.

To continue with these accreditation efforts, Step By Step, Inc. has invited CARF surveyors to re-evaluate how well our services continue to meet standards of quality. The survey team is expected to confirm what we are doing well and ways we might improve. The goal of this evaluation is to receive a continued 3 year CARF accreditation.

As a part of this survey, the surveyors will interview people who use our services, their families, our staff and others. Questions may include:

• Are you treated with respect?
• Do you take part in service planning?
• Do you know how to get questions about your service answered?
• Are services provided in a clean and safe setting?
