The Step By Step, Inc. Vocational Department provides job seeking and job support services to persons with disabilities. We provide our customers with the skills needed to find and keep a job. We offer people training in resume writing, interview skills, as well as, appropriate workplace appearance and behavior. Essentially, we "teach people to fish".

To increase community awareness about our program and to promote the hiring of workers with disabilities, the Vocational Department conducted its second annual golf tournament on Friday, July 13th, 2007 at Sand Springs Country Club in Drums, PA.

This year we hosted 83 golfers and had 19 volunteers who enjoyed a beautiful day on the golf course. Each golfer received a Step By Step 30th Anniversary tote bag and a participation prize. Participation prizes ranged from gift certificates to golf balls. Our hole in one prizes were a Cruise to the Caribbean, a set of Callaway Big Bertha golf clubs and a Sony flat panel television.

The Vocational Department would like to thank everyone who helped to make our day a success. Our efforts were greatly rewarded by the generosity of the donations we received, both monetary and in-kind. We are happy to announce we had four Corporate Sponsorships: PNC Bank, Howell Benefits, Frontier Communications (formerly CTSI) and Sam's Club. This year we will continue to use the funds raised to increase community awareness as to the benefits of hiring people with disabilities.
